Founders Vision
Chris and Katie Richards founded Maine Laboratories out of a personal need. When they were unable to find local options for testing their own well water for PFAS contamination, they recognized a critical gap in Maine’s environmental laboratory resources.
Chris, with a PhD in analytical chemistry and deep experience operating advanced testing equipment, teamed up with Katie, whose background in consulting and project management made her uniquely suited to guide the lab’s growth and ensure operational excellence.
Together, they built a talented team dedicated to processing samples with precision and care. Through their combined expertise and commitment, Maine Laboratories quickly achieved national accreditations, establishing itself as Maine’s expert in PFAS testing and a trusted partner for individuals and organizations seeking reliable, accessible analytical services
